Orientation (5 minutes) | Introduce the topic by asking roleplay two pupil’s. Ask the pupils :- 1) Is that metal spoon or plastic spoon which one can light the mentol? 2) Why it’s happen? | 1. Teacher asks a pupil to light up the mentol using a metal spoon. 2. At the same time, teacher asks another pupil to light up the mentol using a plastics spoon. 3. Then teacher discuss with the pupils about their opinion about the two pupils different activities. 4. In the discussion about the activity teacher introduce the topic to be learnt today. | Teaching aids : - Metal spoon - Plastics spoon - Electrical circuit - SS : - Predicting Keyword : - Conductor - Insulator | ||||||||||||
Eliciting of ideas (10 minutes) Reconstructing ideas (15 minutes) | To identify pupils prior knowledge about properties of materials.
Pupils recognize whether the things are insulator or conductor according to the picture that pasted on the black board.
| 1. Teacher asks the pupils some question :- - What is meant by insulator and conductor? - What is the difference between them? 2. Later teacher asks the pupils to match the correct meaning of insulator and conductor. 1. Teacher paste some materials in the black board of the classroom. 2. Then pupils should be able to recognize and classify whether the thing is conductor or insulator. | SS - predicting Teaching aids : - name card Teaching aids - pictures | ||||||||||||
Application (20 minutes) Reflection (10 minutes) | Classify the things according to insulator or conductor. Conclusion - Good conductors of heat are also good conductors of electricity. | 1. Teacher will divide the pupils into 6 groups. 2. Each group will be provided with a worksheet “Wonder word”. 3. Teacher will paste some picture on the black board. 4. The pupils have to identify the name of the things in the “wonder word” 5. Then they have to state wheater the things that they got is insulator or conductor. 6. The group that finishes early will be consider as winner. 1. Teacher put all pupils name in a box. 2. Later teacher pick up a pupils name. 3. According to that, the pupil has to come in front of the classroom and rotate the wheel. 4. Then a question will be asked. 5. The pupils who could answer the question correctly will get a mysterious gift. | Teaching aids: - Picture - A4 paper SS - Predicting - classifying NV - Cooperation - Honest SS : - Evaluating NV : - Honest |
